Opening of Alexander Shadrin’s personal exhibition ‘Old Fairy Tales’
All of us have emotional ties with our childhood that last throughout all our lives. That’s why we get so excited, when we recall moments that bring us back those happy days.
The author’s paintings are quite individual and unconventional. It is because the author’s ability to bring out the inner child in him. His works has got something that makes them special and conspicuous – something sparkling full of light that comes from within shaded but with a complex combination of colors. The images are so vivid and real that they easily convey childhood feelings as experienced by the author himself. As a follower of Feshin’s expressive manner Alexander Shadrin modernizes and unifies his vivid images so that we should see them as codes to another reality. In his works people usually surrounding him turn into mythical creatures such as witches, medicine women and hunters. Each work has a lot of meanings and colors of its own, complexity of the composition and certain philosophy behind each image.
