Three works from the collections of Perm Art Gallery will go to the exhibition of the Russian avant-garde in Monaco.
12 of July 2015 in the Cultural – Exhibition Centre "Grimaldi Forum Monaco» (Principality of Monaco) will open the exhibition "From Chagall to Malevich: the revolution of the vanguard ," which will feature 150 works by over 40 masters of the Russian avant-garde, created in the period from 1905 to 1930, from the St. Petersburg revolution to Stalin's rise to power.
Among the iconic works of the exhibition – a huge canvas of Marc Chagall "Introduction to Jewish Art Theatre", written in 1920 and given to the State Tretyakov Gallery (Moscow). Here you will see a triptych of Kazimir Malevich – a square, a cross and a black circle on a white background from the Russian Museum (St. Petersburg). These paintings until now have not been exhibited outside of Russia.
The Perm Art Gallery in Monaco will present three works from its collection. This is known and loved painting of Natalia Goncharova "Radiant Lilies" (1913), which for the time will leave the permanent exhibition. As well as two works from the collections of the gallery: "Composition" by Alexander Rodchenko (1918) and "Radiant composition" by Alexander Shevchenko (1914).
Perm side at the opening of the exhibition will be represented by the gallery director Julia Tavrizyan and curator of the collection of painting and sculpture Tatiana Suvorova.
Period of the exhibition: 12 of July – 6 of September 2015.
The project is a part of the Year of Russia in Monaco.
