We invite You to the Museum of modern art PERMM on 16.04.2015 to the exhibition "Dmitry Prigov: from the Renaissance to conceptualism and beyond"
The exhibition will be opened for visitors from 16.04.2015 till 28.06.2015 year.
Dmitry Alexandrovich Prigov (1940 – 2007) is one of the most important figures of the Russian art of the 20-th and 21-st century. His influence on Russian art context is invaluable, his poetry at the poetry festivals along with the classics of the past centuries, his name was known all over the world. Prigov was one of the founders of Moscow conceptualism and a truly versatile artist, not limiting himself to genre: he has achieved success both in painting and in poetry, in sculpture and in performance art.
The exhibition of Dmitry Prigov: from the Renaissance to conceptualism and beyond arrives in Perm from the State Tretyakov Gallery, where it with great success took place last year. The exhibits are provided by the Fund Prigov" and the Tretyakov gallery. In addition, the Museum PERMM will add to the exposition of the works of the artist who are the part of our Museum collection. The exhibition gives a full picture of the personality of this amazing artist, his career, the evolution of images and the topics covered. The exhibition presents almost all kinds of art, including the master, including large-scale graphic sheets and multi-part series, never before exhibited – more than 150 works. A special attention will be given to the literary heritage of Dmitry Prigov: the Year of Literature in Russia, we believe it is necessary to adequately present one of the greatest Russian poets of the last decades. The exhibition will be implemented two special project of the Museum PERMM: educational, literary and art project "Reading Prigov and interactive project "Move the audience". The details about them, we will soon place on the resources of the Museum.
The exhibition is curated by Cyril Fireflies,and also he is an art historian, writer, researcher, head of Department of the newest currents of the Tretyakov Gallery.
