"The promise of a landscape" – is a new exhibition project of PERMM, visual examination of images of the domestic landscape in the works of contemporary Russian artists. The central theme of all the works in the exhibition is not so much a Russian landscape itself, but landscape and space of our country as a whole. Images of the national "landscape" presented at the exhibition in the range from paintings and photographic works to installations, objects, video projects, and documentation of performance. The main objective of the project "The promise of a landscape" – art means to analyze the phenomenon of the "vast territory" to comprehend "Landscape code" of the country in its present state.
The exhibition is formed of three thematic blocks – "Point – Map," "Distance – The Road" and "Panorama – View", one for each floor of the museum. The exhibition presents the works of popular Russian artists (including, in particular, Alexander Brodsky, Leonid Tishkov, Leonid Sokov, Dmitry Tsvetkov, Peter White) and the authors of the Permian (Olga Subbotina and Michael Pavlyukevich, Peter Stabrovskiy, Inga Vjugova, Lyubov Shmykova, Igor Ryabov, Alexandra Bubnov and others). The exhibition includes works from the museum PERMM, as well as from the collections of the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the gallery "Krokin", Art – centre "Gridchin – Hall», Ural Vision Gallery, the gallery pop / off / art, collections of Nadegda and Andrew Agishev, fund "New Collection", gallery "Ground".
